Week 31 - Coronavirus Survival

I'm up two pounds this week. But honestly, I think that's a win because before Optavia, the past two weeks would have ended up with a 10-pound gain. I haven't gone off the deep end, but being home all day makes it hard. I tend to just take a bite of this or that when I walk through the kitchen. I need to stop letting my daughter bake!

To help kee me on track, I joined a challenge to track my weight and exercise over the next three weeks.
My starting weight and activity.
My starting photo.
Baylie decided to join me. Planks..
...and squats.

This is how I organize my food now. I got the idea from David's mom and I love it. It is so much easier than shifting through boxes.
I'm hoping to be in the 160's by the end of April!

Weird Week 30!

This was a crazy week and my weight was all over the place. I was up two, down one, as high as 176 and as low as 172.8. I think it's the stress of what's going on with life right now. It's also hard to be home all day and not grab a might of something here and there.

I have loved being home with our family and not having to rush to be anywhere. It makes me wish I could afford to homeschool. I decided that for next week, we need to have some projects. So we bought some stuff for a garden. I built these garden boxes from scrap wood we already had at the house. We also got a pressure washer and cut some crown molding to build frames for the kitchen mirrors. Hopefully we can get a lot done while we're home all day.
Highest weight: 296.5
Starting Optavia weight: 236.8
Today's weight: 172.8
Total lost: 64 (124)

I had a doctor's appointment on Friday and had some lab work done. My healthcare provider kept saying how amazing it was that my numbers had improved so much in just six months.

Stats (previous stats in parenthesis)
  • Blood Pressure: 108/72
  • Cholesterol - 157 (195)
  • A1C Estimated Average Glucose: 5.5 (5.8, prediabetic)
  • Blood Sugar - 49 (96) this would be hypoglycemic, but since I'm eating every three hours, it's okay
  • Thyroid - .9 (1.93) eventually I will need to adjust my medication, but right now we don't want to slow down my thyroid
  • CBC - 5.4 (5.44) still higher than normal and I need to give blood, but I can't because I've had hepatitis
  • Vitamin D - 63.6 great number which means my immune system is strong
  • GFR - 108
  • Triglicerides - 45 (66)
  • AST - 29
  • ALT - 36 this one went up for some reason
I also planed some herbs today!

Week 29

Highest weight: 296.5
Starting Optavia weight: 236.8
Today's weight: 173.4
Total lost: 63.4 (123.1)

More than three pounds lost this week!! That's my best week in a while. Even better than the weight loss was my recent doctor's visit. My blood pressure was only 108/72 - NORMAL - not even close to being out of the normal range. It's never been that low before.
As the world is in chaos around me, I am comforted to know that I am healthier than ever before.

Week 28 - 7 months - 60 pounds!

Highest weight: 296.5
Starting Optavia weight: 236.8
Today's weight: 176.8
Total lost: 60 (119.7)
Inches lost: 30.75 (44.75)
BMI down: 10.9 (19.9)
Five pounds down this month!
Today I threw on a shirt that I used to wear a lot. I hadn't worn it in a really long time. I was completely shocked at how it hung on me. I know that I have lost a ton of weight and look different, but since I've watched it happen so slowly, I don't always notice. Today was one of those days where it really hit me.
As excited as I am about this weight loss, I'm also sad at how much time I've wasted being fat. I wish I had found this program years ago. I've been looking back through some old pictures of all my travels and I couldn't help but wish I had been thinner while traveling the world. But hey, I traveled the world. I've lived a pretty amazing life. And I'm grateful I found this program now. Hopefully it will help me live an even longer life.
